Hills Relay for Life 2013 - May the Fourth be with you

"May 4th Be with You" is this year’s call to the community as we gear up for the 12th Hills Relay For Life at the new venue of Wrights Road Reserve, Kellyville (please note the new venue!).
This unique and memorable charity event is a great way for you, your friends, families and co- workers to get together and make a real difference.
The Hills Relay for Life is in its 12th year and has raised well over $2 million towards the fight against cancer. Our fundraising has helped support several cancer research projects as well as fund a number of cancer patient support programmes in The Hills.
The Cancer Council Hub at Rouse Hill, offers information and ongoing programmes in art therapy, pilates and other support programmes to cancer patients.
The Hills Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2013. The Hills Relay for Life is an overnight community event where teams participate in a relay-style walk to raise funds for the NSW Cancer Council. This wonderful event brings the whole community together for a time of fellowship, fun, entertainment, celebration for those who have beaten cancer and of course remembrance of those who have succumbed to this terrible illness.
The Relay will commence with a lap consisting of cancer survivors and their carers in a celebration of survivorship; whilst at sunset, there will be a lap of remembrance and candlelight vigil for relatives and friends of those who have lost their battle with cancer.
Throughout the day there will be games and entertainment as well as food and beverage facilities and other stalls of interest for Relay participants.
This year, the theme shall be “May the Fourth be With You - Fight Back”, with an emphasis on promoting cancer prevention measures and the organising committee will be encouraging teams to promote fun ways of reinforcing this message.
